A book about how when your world is falling apart sometimes the person who is your saving grace may need saving too. After finding his friend dead Seth McCoy, tries to ignore his pain with drunken performances in the band the real McCoys and partying but that never solves anything. He has to take extra classes in order to graduate, he is placed in a class that requires him to think about others emotions and communication which is something he hasn’t done in a while¬† he meets a girl name rosetta who is his saving grace. They are opposites physically and materially but emotionally they are Ying and yang. Sometimes a perfect exterior doesn’t mean nothing is wrong on the inside…..and that’s when things fall apart.

Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli

I won’t say its my favorite book (because I love so many books for different reasons) but it would definitely make my top five. Stargirl is a remarkable novel about how its ok to be different and that if others can’t see that then hey, that’s their loss. Spinelli does a great job drawing the character stargirl and just how conservative her new town. Making her differences even more likeable. Stargirl is without a doubt a must for readers to read!
